The Power of Invitation

Never underestimate the power of your invitation! Whether you extend an invitation to someone for the first time or the fifth time, God can use as a catalyst for life change.  Don’t give up!  I am where I am today because someone never gave up on me.  A close friend of mine from MOPS, Lori Kolvek, was relentless to invite me to a Fridaymorning Bible Study at her church.  I turned down the invitation time and time again, week after week finding many excuses of why I couldn’t go.  I was nearly 30 years old with 2 children, a freelance writer and marketing specialist working out of my home--a busy mom with plenty of things on my to do list and calendar already.  After several times of being asked, I finally gave in and went to the Bible study because of relentless invitations from a great friend.  I really wasn’t interested in going, but I just couldn’t say no to her again.  I didn’t even know how much I needed that Bible study.  I didn’t know what I was missing. I didn’t realize the void I had in my life was a God-sized void.  It was at that very Bible study my eyes, ears and heart became opened to God.  Within a very short 48 hours of attending for the first time, I gave my life to Christ with reckless abandonment and never looked back.

My life was forever changed by the relentless pursuit of a friend and the power of an invitation. Beyond that, in part because of witnessing my life change, many other friends and family members then gave their life to Christ—my husband, my children, my mother, my father, my sister, my brother-in-law, my sister-in-law and many close friends.  A simple invitation can change a life, have a multiplication effect and impact generations.

God can use anyone and their sphere of influence and relationships to position others to have an encounter with God.  But, we have to be ready and willing!  I want to spend my life allowing God to use me as a catalyst for life change for so many others.  I want others to experience the power of salvation as I did. I know that is the heart of many of you!  I am here today, 13 years after that Bible study, as the Director of the Flourish Women’s Conference helping to facilitate powerful, life-changing moments for other women as well.

The Flourish Women’s Conference is almost here. Don’t miss it. Be part of this historical moment on Saturday, May 7th at the Parker Pace Center. Allow me to personally invite you to be my guest for the day. Tickets are only $27.50, but the experience will be priceless. In addition, I challenge you to extend an invitation maybe for the first time, or again for the fifth time to your mom, sister, daughter, co-worker, neighbor, acquaintance, soccer mom or that person on your heart. Allow God to use you and the power of invitation to help change someone’s life by getting them to the Flourish Women’s Conference. You won’t regret inviting them, but you will regret it if you don’t!

Women from all over Colorado, women from many different churches, women from many different backgrounds, women in various seasons of life, women of all ages, women who have yet to give their life to Christ will gather together for a day of encouragement and a day to seek God and position themselves to Flourish.  We are believing for a life changing day for women individually, but also for women corporately as we gather to worship and grow in God.

Join me on May 7th at the Flourish Women’s Conference.  Register today at Flourishwomen.co. You will leave refreshed, encouraged, inspired and challenged!  Don’t come alone!  Life change just may be on the other side of your invitation!

See you there with your guest!
