Push Through

This past weekend Jacob and I had the honor to speak at a marriage conference. Friday night we finished our first of many sessions, and as we made our way back to our hotel room, my husband mentioned that he was not feeling well. About 30 minutes later he was sure he was not feeling well. And, within an hour he had the full-blown stomach flu. Of course what is the stomach flu if it’s not shared with your spouse! ;-) So, come Saturday morning we found ourselves far from home and far from comfort.  With a weekend full of messages ahead of us that needed to be preached; I knew we were in for an interesting ride.

So we did what we needed to do. We stocked up on every ounce of medicine made available to us from the trusted local Walmart, and before each session, Jacob and I would pray.  We asked the Lord for His help and strength to go and minister to all the people that had gathered.  We asked God to do something great despite how we felt. Then afterwards, we would run to our hotel room and hide so nobody else got sick! Every time we took that stage, there was an amazing rush of adrenaline and God’s strength that was physically felt.

All day Sunday I kept thinking of 2 Corinthians 12:9, “…My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” This blog is for any of you beautiful women that are having to PUSH THROUGH something in life right now. You may feel pain. You may feel sickness. You may feel far from comfort. But this I know, when needed, God’s grace is there, ready and available for you…push through.

To those of you who may not be feeling pain but maybe are uncomfortable, God is stretching you and entrusting you with more.  For others, He may even be increasing the weight on your life--push through. In His strength you are made strong today.

May we flourish well today ladies, not in our own capabilities but in our beautiful dependency on our God.  He is able to do above and beyond and more than we ever could imagine or think.

Xoxo,
Hannah
